Kaeng Krachan National Park |
At 2910 square meters, Kaeng Krachan is Thailand's largest national park. Most of it is dense jungle, but we did most of our birding from the car and walking along side the road. The park has a rich diversaty of wildlife even though we're only showing a few birds here. Elaphants, leopards, and many species of monkeys make thier home here. |
Emerald Dove This was one of our first finds upon entering the park. |
Red Junglefowl Ancestor to the common chicken. |
Orange-breasted Trogon This insectivore carves out its nest in rotten stumps. |
Crested Serpant-Eagle I wish we could have seen the crest. |
Great Barbet This guy mainly eats fruit, and is about twelve inches long. |
Vernal Hanging Parrot I didn't turn the picture over; he's really hanging upside down. |
Gray-headed Canary-Flycatcher One of the rare times I lused a flash. |
